Role: UX and Web Designer
Overview
Cyber-0-Day 3.0 is a cybersecurity-themed event platform created for the Linux Club at VIT Chennai. The site served as the central portal for participants to explore CTF challenges, register for workshops, view resources, and stay updated during the event. The design focused on delivering an immersive, hacker-inspired experience.
Problem
Most university event sites look generic and fail to match the tone of technical themes. The goal was to create a high-engagement platform with a distinct hacker aesthetic, strong visual storytelling, and seamless functionality across devices.
Solution
I designed a fully themed platform that let users:
Browse events and CTF challenges
Register and attend workshops
Access schedules, resources, and live announcements
Engage with a stylized interface that reflected the world of cybersecurity
My Approach
Theme Building: Developed a bold hacker-inspired design with terminal-like visuals and a dark color scheme
User Flows: Structured intuitive paths for registration, event participation, and live updates
Design System: Used 3D graphics, glitch effects, and dynamic layouts to enhance immersion
Performance: Optimized for mobile and desktop with fast load times and responsive components
Key Features
Challenge and workshop listings
Live updates and result announcements
Hacker-themed UI with 3D visuals
Smooth performance across screen sizes
Custom-designed registration and info flows
Additional Contributions
All project assets were created by me using Blender. The terrain featured throughout the site was generated procedurally using geometry nodes. Beyond the web platform, I also designed the entire event branding and content package including promotional posters, Instagram grids, animated reels, and a complete aftermovie that I filmed and edited. These helped unify the visual identity across both web and social media.
Outcome
The platform elevated the event’s identity and engagement levels. Participants appreciated the immersive look and feel, while organizers benefited from a reliable, easy-to-update platform that matched the event’s intensity and technical theme.
